Two thresholds every
marketplace seller must know

Whether you're in the Netherlands, UK, or anywhere else — if you sell to EU customers, these rules apply to you.

OSS — One Stop Shop
€10,000

EU cross-border sales threshold

If your combined sales to customers in other EU countries exceed €10,000 in a calendar year, you must register for OSS and charge the VAT rate of the buyer's country.

  • Applies to all EU sellers
  • Cumulative across all platforms
  • ZenBTW tracks this per country, per quarter
KOR — Dutch Small Business Exemption
€20,000

Dutch VAT exemption threshold

Dutch sellers with total annual turnover under €20,000 can apply for the KOR exemption — meaning no VAT to charge, no VAT returns to file.

  • Dutch-registered businesses only
  • Includes all platforms combined
  • Similar schemes exist in BE, DE, FR and others
⚠️ Not based in the Netherlands? The OSS threshold (€10,000) still applies to you if you sell across EU borders. ZenBTW calculates this correctly regardless of your country. The KOR section will simply not apply.

ZenBTW is built for Dutch sellers but works for all EU marketplace sellers. We're actively improving it. Your feedback — good or bad — directly shapes what we build next.

Common questions

Does this work if I'm not based in the Netherlands?
Yes. The OSS threshold (€10,000) applies to all EU-based sellers who sell cross-border within the EU. ZenBTW calculates this correctly for any EU country. The KOR section is Dutch-specific — if you're not Dutch, it simply won't apply to you, but everything else works fine.
I'm a UK seller selling on Etsy to EU customers. Does this apply to me?
Partially. As a UK seller, you don't fall under EU VAT law the same way — but if you sell above €150 per transaction to EU buyers, EU VAT rules apply at point of sale (usually handled by Etsy). For lower-value goods, it depends on your specific setup. ZenBTW can help you understand your EU cross-border sales volume and identify when thresholds are approaching.
Is my sales data safe?
100%. ZenBTW runs entirely in your browser. Your CSV or HTML file is never uploaded to any server — it's parsed locally on your device. We literally cannot see your data.
Which platforms are supported?
Currently: Etsy (CSV export), Shopify (CSV export) and Vinted (HTML export from your sales page). More platforms are being added based on user feedback — which is exactly why we want you to try it and let us know what's missing.
The interface is partly in Dutch — will you translate it?
Yes, this is on our roadmap. The core calculations and data processing work the same regardless of language. We're currently gathering feedback from international users to prioritise what to translate first. Use the feedback button in the dashboard to let us know what matters most to you.
